BCOMM Interview Assessment

Had my interview assessment today! Didn't do very well in it.. but am just glad that it is OVER. which means its just boardroom presentation left! =)
Went out for dinner with Jaws at Tampines at MOF.

It'll another day of project meeting tomorrow.. its getting on my nerves.. ):

On a happy note, I'm heading to Taiwan this Friday for a full 8+ days. Am going to drop all assignments and projects to simply enjoy, for once. Holidays have not been holidays at all, and it has been really frustrating.

Alright, so here's to Xmas and the coming New Year! Rejoice! =)

" Term Break "

"Term Break" will start today after Nihongo class. *cheers*

Why the bunny ears over the word 'term break'? - because it isn't very much of a break. With 3 Group Projects (MRSH-Fieldwork, BMM-Proj 1, WISP-Investigative Report) and an individual assignment (SM-Report) due immediately after the break... you get my point.

In view of my 9-days of REAL holiday coming up, I've got to get everything done in a week or so, which makes everything worst. hurhurh. ): Thunderstorm comes before the sunshine eh? Boohoo.

Updates updates... Just 5 days ago (2nd December), I have marked a milestone for my Japanese studies by taking my first JLPT (Japanese Language Profiency Test). *hurray*.. Yes yes.. I know its only the most basic level N5.. but things gotta start somewhere right? :D Am praying for beyond a pass.. But please don't fail me. ):

The term break for this term seems longer than ever, but that's really due to the fact that Marketing-option students don't have CTs. Thank goodness, if not, I wouldn't know how we are going to complete our dear assignments..

Ohoh, speaking of which, for our marketing research project, our team is going to be around Yishun & Woodlands.. so if any of you do see us bugging people to do our surveys.. PLEASE DON'T SHUN US... ): It's December.. the season of giving.. so pretty please.. do help us out. Bring your parents, brothers, sisters, aunties and uncles.. We need people from all age-groups... *puppy eyes*

Alright, enough advertisements. ;D & Have a great weekend!! TGIF. xD

eLearning week

Its eLearning week for School of BA this week! =) Hopefully, it will also be the very last one that I would ever have in NP. With MRSH's project part (A) down, we have about 6 more group projects to go? the next deadline being next Sunday. *Zzz*

I had thought that I would be able relax and get back the energy I lost last week due to mugging of the proposal and stuff once I finish up the eLearning work that I'm supposed to finish this week.. but no.. I doubt it. We're gonna start to mugging for MCOMM's project part (A)... FML.

Should start listing down the things that I need to complete to create focus and get out of the holiday mode that I want to be in so badly. )=

Hwaiting!

All bout School...

Just felt like blogging today. (: So its the third week of school, and everything seems to be settling into place. Though the signs of a 'tsunami of projects and assessments' coming our way and I think I am going to drown. *faints*

Since I'll be scoot-ing off during the upcoming term-break, I ought to be more diligent now... be it for projects, individual assignments, tutorials, etc... so I can justify that I deserve the break. ^-^ So, am going to attempt to keep this 'ever ready' attitude and motivate myself to keep working! But of course, that doesn't equate to over-working.. aint going to jeopardize my health and fall sick during the golden week eh... hah.

School has, surprisingly, been rather enjoyable. My marketing lecturers aka tutors are really funny and nice people, which makes the entire lecture/tutorial extremely pleasant and I do actually look forward to classes because its so enjoyable. If only all lecturers/tutors are like them.
The only module I actually dread this semester, is the compulsory IS module called WISP, which is like learning social studies all over again. I'm not saying that it isn't important.. I admit, the contents are probably supposed to act like civics and moral lessons where you learn to become a better individual and citizen. However, the structure in which it is being brought to students... way too boring..

Aiiiish, anyway... tomorrow's the submission dateline for bcomm [cover letter, resume, copy of job advert] . Just finished editing everything, hopefully everything is well now. (:
Shall head out to print all the required documents soon.. then I'll start on this week's tutorials! =D Hwaiting!

the Final Semester...

Into the final semester... the first week of school concluded with mixed feelings...
The core modules seem manageable thus far.. but when it comes to the respective IS modules for the year threes.. I have absolutely no confidence.. It isn't exactly due to the intensity of the modules, it's the project mates that I am worried about. Being someone who isn't outspoken, it's really restrictive.. and I feel suffocated.. As much as I dread the Thursdays of each week, I'm trying really hard to flood positive views about it in myself.. but as of now, it isn't showing much results..

On a happier note, this was what welcomed me into NP on the first day of school which made my day...

Colourful Windmills! =D

Hope it brightened your day too!
Final Semester of School! Hwaiting! p(=^-^=)q

Skarf Hwaiting!

Annyeong! So.. I have officially ended all jobs for this semester's vacation.. Hurray! *Awaiting Payments! $w$*
Just wanted to share my fan-moments with the new k-pop group that has two home(SG)-grown ladies.. Tasha & Ferlyn. I've pretty much gone Skarf-Crazy... Following their news, creating a daum account (an official korean fan-page where fans can actually communicate with the idol groups of k-pop) and actually seeing them in person at their recent appearance at Bugis+ just last week.. So.. Here are the pictures! ^w^

Skarf's Official Signing Ceremony @ Bugis+

the girls' rather cute entrance =D

Saying their Hellos, Interview, Etc.

The crowd that was there! =D

To be honest, am really proud of the SGreans in this girl-group.. (*being all patriotic*) Then again, if not for the SGreans, the hype and news etc, I probably wouldn't even get to know of the group. With that aside, I really hope for nothing but the best for Skarf, and I'll definitely give my 100% support! Skarf Hwaiting! =D

it's MOONCAKE time

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival to ALL! It's the time for reunions, mooncakes and embracing the beauty of the moon.
so, while I wonder what my fellow friends have been doing... I am sitting here in front of my lappy giving an account about my own life.

So, I have finally ended the 16-days-long job for Goodwood Park Hotel (Mooncake Festival) yesterday, it has been a tiring yet fulfilling job. Though there were many unhappiness along the way, am still glad and grateful for the people I had met. We may not cross paths again, but the fact that they had appeared in my life among the billions of people on Earth... I guess that's something to be happy about.

During the period of working at Century Sq, I had met ex-colleagues from Finest.. Looking back, I wonder why I had been so afraid of stepping into my ex-work places.. being scared of being recognised and all. Haha, so I guess I have passed that stage, and so... perhaps I have grown up quite a bit in the past 3 years huh. hah.

Due to a hectic work schedule of an average of 13 hours everyday the past two weeks, I wasn't able to practice driving since passing the test.. Just in the afternoon, daddy decided he wanted to go to the FairPrice Xtra next to Changi City Point.. With ME driving the car. hah. Having not drove daddy's car before.. I cant help being scared. hah. But it turned out fine, with a few sharp turnings and stuff.

Alright, just gonna rest and slack while I can during the next two days.. once again, Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!! =D

a Happy Day

It was finally d-day for my driving test! Went to the driving centre for the warm-up session at nine in the morning.. Had the test around 10. I had thought that I was going to fail.. *there were mistakes here and there* but unexpectedly, I passed.. Quite lucky I must say.

After being flown to cloud nine, we had a last minute decision to have a catch-up session with the army-boy whom starts his two-years of duties from tomorrow, Jon and the forever MIA guy. haha. Mak didn't come in the end. )=
Went to AMK, walked around while waiting for HJ to join us. Went to the nEbo cafe and played board games! =D We played the guessing 'who am I' game.. which was really challenging for me since my general knowledge wasn't good.. at all.. haha! So we had a change of game.. to Saboteur.

Saboteur is a mind-game. haha. It was confusing to play initially.. but it got addictive.. It was really fun trying to trick each other.. to the point that we didn't really trust each other in the end. It was absolutely hilarious.

I guess fun days like this is where time passes really fast.. so, I had to go off before dinner since my family had made a pact, saying that, if I were to pass, they would have a celebratory dinner at Swensen's at Changi Airport T2. And so.. we did! =D

Hopefully, we would have more days like this.. where more people could come along.. It would be more memorable. (=
Anyway, so hip hip hurray to me for passing my driving test.. and it's time for me to rest before I start work on Friday. *Hwaiting*

a New Look!

Its been awhile since I had changed the blogskin, thus the change. (=
This blogskin is credited to http://www.blogskins.com/info/375734 ... I have nothing but respect for these blogskin creators.. wonder where they learnt the skills from. The time and effort spent.. simply amazing.

Anyway, heading out with Jaws tomorrow. Hurray to catching up after 6 long months.. =D

a "marathon" day

It was an as-though-it-was-a-marathon kind-of-day today... Went from place to place just to get things done.. with much frustrations along the way... =.="

Summary of the entire journey:
Home - Eunos (Driving Lessons) - Serangoon (I was lazy to take the overhead bridge, so I took the bus to the nearest MRT station) - Raffles Place (to have my ID photo taken) - Cityhall (which I exited and realised illuma wasn't at City Hall -_-") - Bugis (to register for JLPT N5 exam) - Home (:

Got kind of irritated from finding the ATM of that respective bank at Bugis. I was being so dreamy after driving that nothing was going right. ):

And yeah, I registered for JLPT Exam for level N5 (the easiest level), which means, I have approx. three months to study for it. Considering that I just paid the class fees for IJ202 (Final Jap module with NP) + the entire JLPT test fee.. I'm considerably broke. ): I have literally no allowance this month since everything went to Japanese ):

Shall eat air for the rest of the month. ):

Semester Break!

Hurray to completing the crash course for Intermediate Japanese 201, which signifies the start of my semester break! =D So... what's my goal for this holiday?-:

Goals for Semester Break:
1. Catch-up with friends! - It has been nearly an entire month since I'm back and no one wants to see me. *sigh* -except for those lovelies who's been meeting up for nth times the last 3 weeks.. :')
2. Learn the basics of the GUITAR! - this has been appearing on my resolution list for a considerably long time... In fact.. too long a time. It's time to get started! :D
3. Revise Japanese & Memorise Vocabulary! - Ought to be more diligent if I want to improve my proficiency in Japanese... I barely scraped through the Japanese Module this time round.. ):
4. Visit Gardens by the Bay! - Been hearing about how nice the place is.. the infrastructure and etc... Would love to see how it turned out since it was a million dollar project? or was it a billion dollar project.. hmmz..

I don't think I'm being too ambitious here. p(=^-^=)q Hwaiting!

Dedicated to Grams.

- With Special Dedication to Grams. (: -

From the day I was born, the only grandparent who was alive to watch me as I grew from being a baby to who I am today.. was my maternal grandmother. Going to grandma's house to celebrate CNY, Mothers' Day, Grandma's birthday and even Christmas was a routine almost every single year... till seven years ago.. when grandma had another stroke and was bed-ridden ever since while the siblings quarrelled over the dumbest things and refused to acknowledge family ties.

Ever since then, even though mummy would go visit grams every single week, I often refused to accompany her when she asked and would only visit under forced circumstances. As young as I was, having watched the siblings quarrel while shouting at each other at grams house wasn't a particularly good memory.

During the five months that I was on internship in Sanya, I received news of Grams being in and out of the hospital.. probably 5 or 6 times during that period. Mummy thought Grams wouldn't make it till I came back. But she did. The first day after I came back, I went to visit Grams. Like any other day, she was lying on the bed with all the medical tubes on her. While mummy was telling Grams how I was finally back from Sanya, I could see Grams staring pretty hard at me. She had probably forgotten about me.. considering the fact that she doesn't particularly care about girls, not to mention an external granddaughter.. Though I secretly hoped that she does remember me. :') I wanted to hold her hand so badly, but I was afraid... so I left, murmuring that I would come back to see her again.

The next weekend, my sister and I went with mummy to see Grams again. This time, she was panting really hard. The sight of her suffering.. was unbearable, so we just stood outside, waiting for mummy. Little did I know that, that was the last time I was going to see her. Just a few days later, on the 21st of August, I received news that Grams had passed away. I was just staring at her a week ago, and the next moment, she was gone. It may have been a good thing, that she could finally be relieved of her sufferings of seven years and return to her husband's side after 31 years of separation (Grandpa passed on 31 years ago). Mummy kept saying, 'I thought you won't be able to see her for the last time, but you did, she waited for you.' But I believe.. that it was just a coincidence of events.

The next few days after the 21st, was the funeral. It was considerably grand, which was what Grams would have wanted.  As a granddaughter, I couldn't think of what I could do, but to stay by my mummy's side and give her mental support. Mummy isn't the type of woman who would cry easily. The only time I saw her tear was when she was telling me the story of how grandpa cheated on grams.

On the cremation day (25th Aug 2012), I saw through the ceremony from chants to cremation. I told myself, no tears because Grams is in a better place now. I thought mummy would have thought the same way, but while we were circling the coffin for the final time (Chinese  funeral ritual), I saw mummy broke down, she really did. It was the first time, I ever saw her cry like that. At that very moment, was when I started to tear and cry with her. Not actually because of the passing of Grams, but because I could feel the pain of those being left behind.

Mummy often said, 'what matters most, is caring for a person when they are alive, and not the other way round when they are dead'... If you had put in your 100% in caring for a person while they are alive, then you would have no regrets when it's time for them to move on.

I'll miss you Grams.. Thank you for being with me.. You'll never know how grateful I am, for you were the only grandparent whom I had with me for the past 19 years... :')

In loving memories of Grams... (Died at the age of 88 Years Old)

Home Sweet Home

And so... I'm back to Singapore.. the tiny, warm & sunny island called Home. Just in time for our 47th National Day.. *how patriotic*, though I didn't even watch the parade on TV since I was rushing my final internship report which was due yesterday... =-=

So, with the final report submitted, yesterday marked the end of internship, which technically speaking, I'm already on holidays.. but NO.. I'm not, simply because, while everyone is going to be enjoying their holidays after their examinations, I am going back to school for my Japanese crash course classes for IJ201 from the 21st to the 31st of August.
Well.. Japanese has always been my interest, and I AM determined to master it. its just that the laziness within me isn't helping.. T-T

Hence, I shall try my very best to be diligent and work hard for my last module this semester.. (Jap.)
Wish me luck and to friends whom I am supposed to meet up but had not seen for the past five months.. catch up soon.. (:

The Life of an Intern & Results

Have not blogged since the end of examinations.. & so, here I am! =D
The wk after the examinations was filled with endless outings, sweet farewells and wishes, adjusting emotions and yummy food. Many thanks to the friends that spent precious time with me (Minz, Jaws, HuiPing, Gracey & my dearest Leo comrades and seniors. Special thanks to pudding, micmak, zul and Jon for coming down all the way to my house, risking your last buses/trains, to send me off. T-T

Nevertheless, how time flies, its nearly a month and a half into internship.. those whom had 2-months would have ended or are ending their internship.. while for us, its just about three and a half months to go. (=

About three weeks ago, results for the semester were released. Was slightly disappointed for IEF, but nothing depressing. Got a PM for IL, which was shocking because we really did nothing much. All in all, satisfied.. as long as my GPA doesn't go down. (=

Many Ups & Downs during the past month, still can't believe I'm here in Hainan.. (= Days here have been survivable, honestly, apart from working hours, it has been quite relaxing.. (=^-^=)
Alright, should head to have a nap before my shift at night. Till next time...

Goodbye Year Two!

And so, the week worth of examinations is finally over. The memorizing of endless theory, practicing of accounts/service-related questions and feeling guilty every single time when procrastination behaviour occurs and recurs.

The taste of temporary freedom.. from all that studying.. had been extraordinary.

Six Days. is all I got to catch-up with friends, get my laptop fixed (if possible), do the things I want to do in Singapore, eat all the good food, get packing and be mentally prepared. =X

I will survive this. I can do it! (=

- The Examination.. Again -

Had my first paper - pmkt today.. Been writing notes for the past two days till my right arm ached.. Only started memorising the key points this morning. To my surprise, the paper wasn't that tough since I could remember most of the main points and concepts. Perhaps, just a little worried for the applications portion. (=

There's three more papers to go. Next up would be IEF.. which is another theory-based paper.. Well, on the bright side, at least I get to finish the theory-based papers first, like the Chinese saying '先苦后甜'. haha. Though I think I may be a little too complacent about the accounting paper & som. =X that's not good, gotta be humble and still put in my best effort. haha. Not to mention, it is exactly because of this complacency of mine that I did rather badly for both som & aaa in comparison to the theory-based ones during the common tests.

I just can't wait for next Thursday to arrive... Freedom <3

My 19th Birthday ♥

A year older after every year..
Officially turned 19 yesterday, I am into my last year of being a teenager...! *boohoo* But this year was a little more special & more memorable than the other years.

This year, I celebrated my special day with 3 different groups of people.
As my birthday happened to fall on the 2nd day of Chingay (4.2.12), I celebrated early with my family on Thursday (2.2.12), went to have dinner at Manhanttan Fish Market @ Changi City Point.
That very night, my leo-mates surprised me by coming all the way down just to celebrate with me. (aww, so sweet ).. Singing, laughing, lohei-ing.. (though the noise level had to be minimized as it was too late at night, haha)..

Then it was Chingay! the day that everyone of us had been waiting for.. Being part of Chingay as one of the Logs volunteer was one of the best choices I had made. In there, I had made new experiences and new friends whom are pretty mature though cheeky as they can be. (=
And so, on my actual bday, fellow logs volunteers were very sweet, they bought me a slice of atas cake, which was heavenly . On top of that (probably a heartware tradition of celebrating birthdays), being the actual birthday girl, I celebrated on behalf of all the February babies among the volunteers. (to make a wish and blow the candles on the cake they bought, *embarrassed* haha)

And that was how I spent my 19th, with dearest family & friends. ♥ -blissful-

Dragon Year 2012

Happy Lunar New Year!! It's already mid-way through the celebrations!! Really tempting to ignore reality and enjoy this festive season but there's just so much school work to do. x.x Have not finished any of the tutorials for the week and not to mention the final project presentation on Friday..

Leaving those aside for a moment, I had a short and sweet meet/catch-up session with Stacey last Friday! It was great to see her back in SG and learn that she has been doing well in Melbourne. It was a pity that the meeting was short due to our schedule differences but nonetheless, glad we still found time to meet-up. (=

Alrighty, I should be zzz-ing earlier today so that I'll wake up earlier to do work!

Have a blissful and meaningful Dragon Year ahead! (=^-^=)

Happy New Year - 2012!

It's the NEW YEAR now... & I'm going to reminisce the times I had in the past year.
Beginning the year 2011 was my first time overseas w/o my family but with 39 other BA mates and 2 wonderfully caring teachers embarking on our 5-weeks overseas immersion programme (OIP).. Immediately after, was my enrollment into ComfortDelgro Driving Centre (CDC) & actually driving a car for the first time. Following that, during the Sept-Oct semester break, I had my first sisters' trip to Fukuoka, Japan to attend my first V6 concert in Japan. (It was my 2nd time considering the first time in Taiwan, but seriously, nothing beats watching the idols in their homeland.. it makes a really huge difference. xD) & just yesterday, it was also my first time experiencing the crowd at Marina Bay Link to watch the 8-min long fireworks display after countdown. (the queue after that was terrible. lol)
And that, was the short summary of first-times I had in the entire year which had made my 2011 a meaningful and memorable one. Now, with the brand new year 2012, we have 365 days (considering that today is coming to an end), to make this year as memorable or even better than the past year. Hwaiting~! p(^-^)q
So, here WISHING EVERYONE A BLESSED NEW YEAR 2012 w HAPPINESS & GOOD HEALTH...!!
