夏祭り 2013

今年の夏祭りへ行った!とても楽しい経験だよ。

夏祭り 2010 was my first time experiencing the festival. I remember how amazed I was at the number of people who knew about it and supported it. There were many people in their own Yukatas and I was in a state of admiration and envy.

Since コジさんは十月日本へ帰る, I thought it'll be nice to let them know how loved the Japanese culture is in Singapore.
夏祭り2013

With special thanks to Shining (my ex-taiko mate) whom have gotten the tickets for us. It was regretful that we didn't managed to take a picture together... it would have been really nice since we were both in Yukata. haha.

And yes, mEi's very belated birthday gift to me was my very own Yukata. 笑子さん had picked the colour and designs for us... She chose a pink Yukata for me because, in her opinion, I was in the prime of my life and I should wear something that represents my age.

me in Yukata!

どう?does a sweet image suit me? hahaha. This was one of the nicer pictures that was profile-worthy. I didn't have time to put on any make-up. Guess it wasn't too bad? :P

とても楽しかったね。日本で浴衣を着たい。それはおもしろい経験と思う。:3

a lesson on Motivation

"There was a beautiful garden near a professor's house. Every single day, many children would come by to play in the beautiful garden. The professor, being a professor, can't chase the children away (nor scream and shout at them) regardless of how much noise they are making, so she decided to conduct an experiment.

For the first few days, she gave every child that came by $1 each. As the days pass, she reduced the amount to $0.80, then to $0.60, then to $0.40 and when the amount eventually dropped to $0.00, the children stopped coming.

Why?

Because the children had forgotten the actual reason that they came to the gardens. - to PLAY.

This holds true to people from all walks of life. In our pursuit in our dreams, we get distracted along the way, and sometimes forget what we had worked hard for, why we are doing what we are doing, etc...

Lesson of the Day? - don't let yourselves be distracted. remind yourselves from time to time the reasons and motivations you had when you made your choices/decisions.. and work for it.

All the best! 加油! 화이팅! 頑張って! \(=^-^=)/

*Thank you Ms Ruth Ng (Fencing) from sharing the above story with us. I shall never forget this lesson. (: *
