"how's life?" "uh.. liddat lor"

Every gathering/catch-up session with friends... this question is bound to emerge: "so... how's life?"
I seem to have reached the age where all your guy friends would be talking about 'Army', 'Enlistment', 'POP', 'ORD'.. etc.. etc... and all your girl friends... 'University', 'Work', 'Colleagues'... you get the drift...

My answer to that question would always be... 'huh.. like that lor.' in a typical SGrean slang.. AKA Singlish.

Being neither here nor there... honestly, there isn't much I can talk about these days... I'm neither in the army... nor am I accepted into the Universities.. 'Sandwich' would be the best word to describe my life, for now. Frustration... Anxiety... Envy... Just losing hope in general.

My heart feels so burdened these days.. I don't want to think nor talk about it.. not at all.. but my personality disallows that. Till the day I receive something from SMU or Uni of Melb... Till the day I find another temp job. Till the day I solve my own financial crisis.. till... forever. My mind never seem to stop thinking. If only there was a switch off button in the system.

I am in need of closure. There are too many things going on.. I just can't seem to relax and just go with the flow. If only... somebody could give me an answer to all these questions... If only...

It's Official... I'm a NP Graduate!

23.May.2013... marks the day I graduate from Ngee Ann Polytechnic... Been waiting for this day since 3 years ago... but now that its here... I can't help but have mixed feelings...

Well... It pretty much signifies that my soul is free once again.. not belonging to any institute, not having any identity.
It also signifies the beginning of yet another chapter.. wherever I would be.
Needless to say, it also signifies the moment where friends embark on their own paths... where "we" become a memory.

All the best to fellow graduates! I'm sure all of us would have a great future in front of us...! (:

rants from a broke little girl

"去抢银行的钱算了"...

お金が大切知っても。。。I know I can't be dependent on older siblings/ parents all the time for sponsorships  for family trips, food and what not just because I'm the maknae in the family. That's a given...

But being all calculative with me when first of all, I'm already repaying using whatever salary I earned for the month (every single cent of my salary, I don't even keep some for myself to spend)... don't you think its a little overboard...?

... just ranting.

BLUE MOON WORLD TOUR (CNBlue Live in SG)

Just last Friday (13 April), CNBLUE was rocking the SG Indoor Stadium with their vocals and instruments... from ballads to rock music. I.WAS.THERE.

Surprisingly, I came to realise that it was my first SG-based concert that I have ever attended. Pretty sure that it won't be my last since B.A.P Live on Earth concert is coming to SG on the 12th of June 2013. Back to topic, I gave my all as a fan-girl, screaming my lungs out, singing to songs I was more familiar with, though sitting throughout the entire concert was a little anti-climax to me. WHY would anyone sit through a k-pop rock concert? WHY? o.o Makes me wonder if its just a Singapore thing. However, I must say, the fanclub coordinated events was really impressive. (:

During 'Lovelight', fans used their phone's flashlight and created a twinkling star effect amongst the sea of blue lights. (disclaimer: the following picture belongs to rightful owner stated on pic. )

Isn't it just so pretty? I happened to read about it before the concert, so I downloaded the flashlight app... (was glad I did and had an opportunity to participate in it. (: thank you CNBLUESGFC)

The initiative that I really liked and was impressed about the most was the paper project. If you had been reading fan-accounts or some press reviews of the concert, there were many volunteers going around the stadium, hours prior to the concert, distributing an A4 paper that wrote '보고 싶어요' which means 'I've missed you' in Korean to all concert-goers.

It was supposed to be used during one of the songs.. Unfortunately, it didn't happen as the setlist was slightly changed. So, I thought perhaps it wasn't going to happen. BUT THANKFULLY, the paper had its purpose fulfilled.

During the very last song of the concert, 'Try again, Smile again'... YongHwa spotted one of the fans holding the paper, and mentioned '보고 싶어요(BoGoShiPoYo)' to Boices. Everyone seems to know that that was the perfect time to use the paper. I think YongHwa was caught by surprise and touched when he saw the entire stadium holding it up. He repeatedly said that he was going to come back here to Singapore and that he loved Singapore. (Watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtixdiRmt5Y)

That was truly... my favourite part about the fan-support initiatives... It was a great night. (:

I'm loving CNBLUE even more after the concert, I strongly believe they are a really nice, family-bonded band. (: CNBLUE HWAITING!

- to my friends reading this... no, my no.1 group is still v6 (J-pop) and will always be. If you're wondering why I haven actually blogged about V6 Oh! My! Goodness! Live Tour 2013 which happened earlier than CNBLUE's BLUE MOON WORLD TOUR, that's because I have already done so in my v6 only blog - http://starz04.livejournal.com/ - (: Love you! & Meet up soon!

It's OFFICIAL.

"Passed & Completed the Diploma Course"...

It's finally official, I have completed my polytechnic studies, ending the semester with a *BOOM*. Why *BOOM* you ask? - When I had gotten my first semestral results, I had listed TWO goals that I had thought was not achievable but still dreamed of achieving it.

1. To attain a 4.0 GPA for at least one semester
2. To attain at least an AD for one core module.

Well, I barely achieved the first goal, since I had gotten the 4.0 for the semester that I was on internship. It's probably normal for anyone to get a 4.0 for their internship, so I guess you could argue that it doesn't count as an achievement. Nevertheless, it still states as a 4.0 on the result slip, so I'm counting it anyway. hahah.

As for the second goal, I'm sure you guessed it already... (from where this post was heading towards). YES, you're right, I attained my AD that I had been hoping day after day for. For not just ONE... but FOUR modules this semester. *HURRAY* *POMPOMs* *CHEERS*

I was so nervous the day before the release of the examination results. Worrying about the unnecessary 'what-ifs'.. worrying that I may not do as well as I hoped. But when I got the SMS at about 8.15 am on Friday... I was stunned with the 4 ADs staring in my face. I jumped out of bed, ran to my laptop, switched it on (to check npal), and started screaming like a maniac (yes, my family hadn't left for work yet, so they all heard me screaming)

Never in my life, I had received my results with such joy. Not for PSLE, not for 'O' levels, neither for the past five semesters in Ngee Ann.

I attained the ADs for 3 core modules (SM, BMM & MRSH) & 1 IS module (int.design)... Honestly, I couldn't have done this without my wonderful project mates... Wee for always gathering us together for project discussions and challenging ideas, Janice for always motivating, entertaining and encouraging, Jole for being my bestie, always listening to my rants and ideas, & JiaQi for always being stressed and ever hilarious.

Not forgetting the wonderful marketing lecturers aka. tutors that have made their lectures and tutorials so interesting. It really motivated me into studying hard for the tests and examinations.

For the first time, I felt like all the hardwork that we had put in for the semester has been paid off. (though, there were some disappointment, especially so for MCOMM since it was the module that we had all put it a lot of work, and brain cells in it, but none of us really scored that well.)

I guess this is what some would call, "a happy ending". The last semester in Ngee Ann was the best and most memorable. In fact, the entire 2012 was filled with memories..  making new international friends (my Nepalese colleagues, Chinese colleagues...) when I was in Sanya, Hainan, China. Meeting PleasurePursuits (my project mates). & Ending the academic year with good grades.

From this day on, we may all be heading for different directions in life, but at least, we know that a part of our lives were once spent together, as colleagues, project mates, classmates, etc. I wish for the best for everyone and hopefully, someday, our paths will meet again. (:

Unofficial Graduation!

It's been awhile since I last posted... Its finally MARCH!. =D
Examinations had been over since February 20th... Since then, I've had several outings/catch-ups with fellow friends... which felt really good. (: Been bumming around, mostly at home, which helped in complete relaxation from the tough semester... There were days where I would sleep at 2-3am in the morning and wake up the next day at noon... haha.

These recent days, however, I had to shift my body clock due to a temp event job that I took up which requires me to be at the event venue at 7am sharp. Though its only a span of two days... I didn't want to risk oversleeping. (:

Just a few days ago, a Japanese friend, whom I got into acquaintance with during the interaction session with Komagome High School, added me on twitter. I was so touched that she had the picture (taken with us) used as her profile picture. Within minutes after accepting her friend request, she sent me a direct message, initiating a conversation in English. Though the conversation eventually became fully in Japanese (I replied in Japanese, that's why). haha. I guess its a good thing.. she is very friendly. (:

And so, I am now considered an unofficial Ngee Ann graduate... am currently awaiting for the final results which will be released in 9 days. D: *Dreading...* Anyway, have a good holiday everyone! =D

Happy Lunar New Year 2013

Happy Lunar SNAKE Year! (:

AH... yet another year/lunar year has passed by... This year, however, would mark the beginning of a brand new chapter.. A year of uncertainties, separation of pathways from friends, new introductions & etc.

& so.. whats going on currently? -> all projects are now OVER.. leaving the examinations to be the only ones left to be cleared. Am also busy with the local universities admissions...
Honestly.. slacking quite bit these days.. about time to buck up and start studying for the exams before it becomes too late. ):

Anyway, all the best to everyone in this new lunar year! Remember to stay safe, healthy & happy. :)
2013 Hwaiting!
