Pre-Lunar New Year - Spring Cleaning

It's been quite a few years since I could stick around the house to help out with the annual spring cleaning. 

Before every lunar new year, a typical Chinese family would spring-clean their houses... from wiping the lamps to ceiling lights, to the cleansing of the storerooms, to the windows... the refrigerator... etc.. etc.. the list could go on. 

A yearly routine... to welcome a brand new year. (: 
Just that there's 2 houses to clean this year: gonna be a house-maid for preggy sister tmr... -_- ah wellz.~ Cheers to a new year!

最後の日 2013

今日は今年の最後の日！

2013.. the year of ups and downs.. but nonetheless, a wonderful year. A quick summary of the highlights of the year:

January - February: Final Semester in Ngee Ann Poly

March: Sister Trip to Osaka! V6 OH!MY!GOODNESS! LIVE TOUR 2013 (29.03 & 31.03), Missed flight back for the first time. 

April - Mid June: First Time Working in an Office Environment (2 months)

May: Graduated from NP! 

June: Family Trip to Hokkaido & Tokyo! 

Mid July - December: Worked with SSC (5.5 months)

Despite facing much rejections, dejection and perhaps even depression... I'm thankful things worked out towards the end of the year... & I know 2014 is going to be an even greater year, filled with many first times.

So, that's it. My year 2013 in a glimpse.

Into the final month of 2013

& its December! A festive season of fun and gatherings is here again! :star

Started off the month with a day out, window shopping, in the city and bumped into dear Jole at Changi Airport, during dinner time! Its been a week or so since she had been back and we had arranged to meet along with the rest of 'PleasurePursuits' (NP final semester project mates) at the end of the year.. so, it was a great surprise! :e 

Every iconic place in this little red dot is being fitted with Christmas decorations and it's such a pleasure to see.

a 'tribute' to an uncle

I have this uncle.. whom I rarely met in my lifetime.. a few glimpses here and there while visiting grams (a.k.a grandmother) at her house when she was still around... and a more impressionable few times at grams' passing. For some reason, he never liked mingling with his siblings... not to even mention his eventual nieces and nephews.. 

Once in a blue moon, we would hear mentions from mum about his womanising ways.. Honestly, not a great way to remember an uncle by. Unfortunately, it has become the only memory worth remembering. 

Just a few days ago, he lost the battle with cancer and left the world to join grams. I attended his wake on the last day, and that was pretty much it. No flashbacks, no feelings, nothing. Even his own siblings had their reservations. 

Well, I saw a glimpse of how it would be like on my deathbed/funeral if I were to stubbornly deny my future niece/nephew into my life, and one thing for certain, I don't like it. x.X
